Beyond Jos
Medical outreach
Before the clinic was a single base, the team was already travelling. Four to five major outreaches a year have been run, as resources allowed.

Where this work has reached
Documented work includes Yobe State, Kano State, and communities around Jos. More than 15 rural facilities in Yobe and Kano are supported with training, mentoring, equipment, medicines, referrals and telemedicine. Care has been for children, women, older people, and people who have been displaced, in both Muslim and Christian communities.
We do not publish the dates or exact places of upcoming outreaches on this website. If you want to join a team, sponsor a visit, or ask about a community, write to us and we will reply in private.
What a team provides
- General consultations and treatment
- Minor procedures
- Laboratory tests
- Medicines
- Health education
- Referral when a case needs a hospital
On outreach the team also prays with people who ask, and local churches help so the relationship does not end when the team leaves.
Amaye Village, Yobe State
The team met a community that had lived for years with extremely limited access to healthcare. It was malaria season. They cared for about 116 patients, including 70 children. About 40 children were suffering from malaria without access to medication, and more than half showed signs of severe malnutrition.
As a physician and missionary, I found it one of the most heartbreaking experiences I have witnessed.
Dr. Yohannes Yimer, in the HBBC clinic profile
Consultations, treatment, medicines and follow-up gave families care they otherwise could not reach. HBBC is working toward a community clinic in Amaye Village so basic services can be there consistently. Amaye is one reason the Jos clinic exists.

Sumana Village, Kano State
With ECWA Kano DCC, the team ran Community Health Officer training and a medical outreach in Sumana Village. The photographs show health teaching under a shelter, consultations, and training outdoors. We are not publishing a patient count for this visit, because the clinic documents we hold do not give one.
